The Princeton, Mass. Papers include a booklet of death listings, 1782-1865, land attachment warrants, receipts, and land deeds concerning various townspeople, including Moses Gill (1762-1832) and Ephraim Beaman (1793- ). The collection also contains state tax assessment orders, 1810-1823 and 1826-1827, several orders for the election of U.S. representatives and county commissioners, an order from Congress for the amount expended on taking plans of the towns in 1832, a petition to the General Court, 1842, requesting the repeal of the Insolvent Act of 1838, and a letter to Jonas Brooks (1799- ) from John Morse ( - ), West Bradford, Mass., concerning the building and price of a chaise. A folder of material on the Princeton church, written by Francis Everett Blake (1839-1913), is also located in folder #1. It concerns the controversy in 1817 between the church and town council over the selection of a minister, and contains lists of Universalist and Baptist Church members, with a history of the latter's formation in Princeton. Folder #2 contains two speeches delivered by Marion Fisher Murphy to the Princeton Historical Society in 1965 and 1971. The earlier address, titled "Princeton and the Elizabeth Fuller Diary," elucidates historical references found in the brief diary, 1791-1792, of Elizabeth Fuller (1775- ). The second address, "The Spirit of '86," is a study of Princeton's role in the Shays' Rebellion.
